I remember the Finnish olympic caster being in awe with Sakamoto's performances. She said something like "look at how when you skate it shows freedom and power of what you are capable to do and it shows beautifully"

her performance was like something out of a movie! not just stalling in between jumps, but her entire body dancing to the music, ecstatic. beautifully choreographed. but you know what i love most of all? when we get to see her face she seems happy. she looks like she is enjoying herself. she is a breath of fresh air in this competition.

She is just a sun on the ice. So cheerful and powerful. Love her skating skills. I would say that many Japanese skaters have best skating skills. I like her both programs but I like her free program more. Well deserved medals. I will wait for your enhancements, Kaori you are really sweet girl. Happy for you, thank you for bringing joy.

Amazing short program, very emotional.

What a delightful, joyous and powerfully dynamic skate. Her speed and ice coverage is simply incredible. She really embodied a female gladiator skimming over the ice. Her expression of the music was sublime... I got goosebumps watching and enjoyed every moment of that program.
Bravo!! For a spectacular skate and Olympic medal!

You don't need to land quads to be great. Sakamoto was the only saving grace of that competition.
