ex-rower here, you'll get a lot more out of using a rowing machine (and avoid injury) if you get the basic technique right. you want to engage your core at the front end and drive your legs down at least 90% of the way before you swing your back at all, you'll put a lot less strain on your back and be able to push much harder that way. if you're new to rowing just break the stroke down into 3 parts being legs, body, arms and try to mostly separate them, if that feels awkward some hamstring stretches will help

I picked up this rower a couple months back due to the folding feature after much research. I can't leave out a rower all the time so being able to fold it was the deciding factor. Been loving it so far.

The fold and store mechanism is better than concepts for sure... I wouldn't replace my current concept but if I was in the market I'd likely get rogues because it's cheaper and in some ways better (tires, looks, and foldability)

Concept2 is a standard also for World Rowing Indoor Championships; there's no chance Rogue could change that!

The display data of this rowing machine is garbage compared to the Concept2，The company in Jiangsu, China, is currently the best at mimicking Concept2’s data accuracy. Rogue’s supply chain manager in Ningbo once asked me to contact the company to purchase the algorithm, but they ignored them. Rogue is just known for copying products from the brands they represent, haha. Next, they’ll be copying Woodway’s products—the frame is in Shandong, and the electronics are in Wuxi. Rogue’s products in China are only 1/5 of the official website price. How do I know this? Because I’m a distributor exploited by the brand. Last year, I sold Rogue Echo Bikes for a year, with a cost of $200, made in Xiamen.

I wonder what the price point is. I seriously doubt rogue will ever displace C2, but since the recent change in ownership model by C2, there's a chance. The question will be 1) will rogue provide parts if needed, 2) if rogue's machine will last for 20 years provided it's properly maintained. The best part about C2 row erg is it will last forever.

Does the rogue have a chain or a rope? Can't tell. We have these Matrix rowers at my local gym and they have ropes. The ropes have a stretch to them and it feels like wasted effort with the rope stretching slightly while working out.

As a gym maintenance technician that looks like a maintenance nightmare the concept 2 is far more simpler to maintenance but it looks like it’s beefy that it might not need a lot of maintenance so I’m curious on how much maintenance that rower needs
