I get so mad when people think only lazy people or drug addicts are homeless. Not everyone is born into the same circumstances. Not everyone has family to fall back on. I worked at the same job for 14 years. I slipped and broke my ankle. After 2 failed surgeries and 2 years of PT, I ended up getting an ankle fusion. I had to resign from my job because I was physically unable to do it anymore. If it weren't for my daughter moving back in with me after college and helping with the bills until I'm able to find a job that I can physically do, I would definitely be homeless. People have no empathy. I'm proud of you for trying your best and hope you get to where you want to be.

Matt Walsh needs to watch this. This young man is not lazy or a drug addict, he looks healthy and determined to get his life back to normal. Best of luck Tyler, everyone deserves a home. Only someone that's never been homeless will talk the shit he does

I was homeless for 4 years back when I was 18-22. I’m 27 now, almost 28, and honestly everyday the fear of it happening again haunts me so bad that leaving my apartment triggers panic attacks and sometimes I just wish I’d be homeless again solely so I could stop fearing it happening again. You are far from a loser so I hope you never believe your father or anyone else that ever says that to you. I think your attitude and the way you’re handling the situation is far better than most people (including me) have handled it. I really really wish you luck. I’m hoping sometime in the future I can just do longterm camping if I could get myself a little camper van or a nice sturdy tent since rent is too expensive.

People are horrible with nasty comments. I feel for you. You had it tough being on your own since 16. Very difficult to make things happen without parents help/love. There are jobs out there but they don't pay well. I remember in the 90's you could get a decent paying job and live the so-called "American Dream" that is not the case in 2023. Keep fighting!

Everyone please DONATE! Together we can make a difference in this one person’s life! ….. Tyler you’re just such a wonderful soul and I pray for you daily. Waking up to seeing you means everything! I work in a hospital and they often need people to transport patients or to run labs or work in the kitchen or warehouse. So many jobs available for just general workers and you get benefits from day one. Try hospitals - just ask.

I'm sorry you had to learn this lesson about Title loans, you are right they should be illegal. You would also think that with all the money being spent on the homeless benefits would not be so hard to come by. Unfortunately that is not the case. Good to hear you were able to get the final number on your loan down and I hope you can put that behind you. Keep fighting and filling your mind with positive lessons. It really helps. I have been in your shoes and you can make it out.

Hi Tyler, first off congratulations on making the negotiations work for a balance due on your van. Your doing great, I love the goal setting your doing . I’ve moved into my van now and am “figuring it out” . You have an amazing story to tell 💫

I think part of the problem is that kids at 18 feel pressured to get out on their own before they are ready. In other countries multi generational living is what’s done but in our county it’s seen as shameful. I think more people lived with there families we wouldn’t see the homes less problem. The young and elderly are the ones most effected. It’s sad! Families should uplift each other.

You're 100% correct on views on homeless. A lot of it is economic factors. Keep on trucking Tyler. You're really doing well.

I realize this post is 4 months old, but I needed to tell you how sorry I am that you receive mean comments. You're right, though...hurt people, hurt people 😢 It's sad, but it's hard for me to feel sorry for those who leave nasty comments. You sound like a wonderful, kind, intelligent man. I'm sorry you are going through this difficult time, but your strength is inspiring. God bless you, friend!❤
