You should set up your VS Code build configuration file, you won't need to open a terminal manually it will be done for you right there in VS Code.

The reason you couldn't run "main.exe" from your PS terminal is because that's not how powershell works it's not CMD. You need to use "./" + your executable file you're trying to invoke.
