Glad to see youre back! To answer one of your questions, the standard concept of why westerners tan is mostly that we think its a "healthier" look. Often "sickness" is associate with pale skin. But I think the increased awareness of skin cancer has made people rethink that notion.

I think western people prefer tanned skin over pale skin because pale skin usually means you don't go outside much which is usually looked down upon in America. Having tanned skin implies that you live a more active & fun lifestyle because you go outside and get a lot of sun.

I do think the culture is shifting slightly and tanned skin isn't as idealized as it was in the 90's, and its not seen as negative to stay inside especially after covid & working from home.

50 kg?!? Seriously? I'm American and no girl here in USA weighs 50 kg; they weigh more like 80 kg or greater. It's quite common here that some wives wear bigger pants than their husbands and the husband dare not say anything about it.

Yes that’s true what you said at the beginning about westerns liking tan skin. It can have a connotation that you have lots of money and therefore don’t have to work and can spend time on vacations or by a pool.

Many years ago I had a work accident in China and had to go to a hospital in Shanghai for surgery.
There I met a lovely nurse who after some time became my girlfriend and eventually my wife.

She has a skinny figure, flawless skin, (especially the face) small nose, big dark brown eyes and a perfectly symmetrical face.
She also told me that she is seen as not attractive in China because she doesn't have the 'usual' Chinese face with some features that are even seen as ugly in China. She is short-sighted and I always loved to see her face in stylish glasses but she is so insecure about her face that she simply avoids wearing them whenever possible!

I really couldn't believe it first because for me she looks like a model. But her society planted that belief inside her that she's not good enough the way she is and with time I learned that no matter what I say she'll not believe me.

As a western person, I remember there used to be a lot of tanning salons, and even my mother had her tanning bed at home, but indoor tanning is less popular nowadays. I think people don't desire that bronze look anymore, maybe because tanning is dangerous, or just not considered rich guys privilege anymore

my nose is very high and slightly big and it RUINS my face because I have a soft face and then I randomly have this huge nose thrown in 😭😭😭 but generally I find those noses really beautiful if it suits the face
