Abandoned Fisker Automotive headquarters in SoCal remains in disarray

Following a bankruptcy filing from EV automaker, Fisker, the company’s former Southern California headquarters was abandoned and has reportedly become a magnet for squatters.

The luxury electric car company was founded in 2016 by Danish designer Henrik Fisker. Initially headquartered in Manhattan Beach, Fisker Automotive opened a facility more recently in La Palma in Orange County. The company experienced major financial difficulties, laid off most of its employees and shuttered its headquarters. On June 17, it filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

The fact that Fisker made their customers pay for recall repairs should have been a red flag. 

BI (Business Insider) previously reported that some customers who had paid as much as $70, 000 for their Oceans had been left with undrivable and unfixable vehicles following Fisker's bankruptcy in June.

One owner told BI that a battery problem had left his Ocean unusable.

"It's literally a lawn ornament right now, " he said.

It looks way worse than it is. Just pick up all that paper strewn on the floor, and the place will already look half-way decent. The hazardous waste is a matter of labeling. If the stuff in those two barrels is new product, it's hazardous material, prolly mostly solvents and such. Safety-kleen can pick that up easily.
