My Grandmother use to tell me about when she was young and what they had to do to protect themselves from ruining all there clothes, she made her own pads, but it was before aspirin and they didn't have anything for pain. She said it was awful and it stunk.

I'm so confused, Victorians told you have a debilitating time, then we should just get on with it, and now told it's like the pain of a heart attack, and back to letting it flow. I think my advice to all young ladies, do what feels right to you, don't listen to anyone 😳🙄

I mean when I was learning about periods "just letting it flow" made the most sense to me so I can see how they came that conclusion. It's amazing how the times change.

I am a first born American of Mexican and Chinese descent. When I had my periods I didn't go to school. Didn't bathe I had sponge baths UGH! I mostly stayed in bed. The foods that I couldn't eat were Avocado, peanuts. Seafood and no coffee, no cold drinks. It's a good thing I didn't marry until Iwas 45 years and didn't have babies. Like my sisters in law when they gave birth they were stuck in their bedroom for 3 months sponge baths for 3 months..I'd die.
