5 Things To Know About Hybrid Electric Vehicles! [Car Talk]

There has been a lot of talk about hybrid electric vehicles lately, ever since the EVIDA Act was passed in 2022. The biggest concern about Hybrid electric vehicles is the number coding exemption, which is already enticing for a lot of Filipinos. In this car review, we answer 5 of the most burning questions about hybrid electric vehicle ownership. We make use of the hybrid vehicle line up of GWM Philippines, who is the main sponsor for this video. GWM Philippines has a pair of full hybrid electric vehicle in the local line up. The first is the Haval Jolion HEV, a subcompact Hybrid electric crossover that is priced like the Nissan Kicks and the Toyota Yaris Cross V. However, the Haval Jolion HEV offers more kit and features than both the Nissan Kicks and the Toyota Yaris Cross. The second hybrid electric vehicle from GWM Philippines is the Haval H6. The Haval H6 is a midsize hybrid electric crossover that is priced like the Toyota Yaris Cross HEV, but it is much bigger and has more kit and features. Both of these GWM hybrids are available, along with the GWM Ora Good Cat which is a full EV that recently launched in the country.

A good video on full hybrids Sir Reygan. There was one question that wasnt asked though, how do you get peace of mind when you dont have a spare wheel in the trunk?

The lack of a spare wheel in alot of hybrids is one of the things that has me off about them. The other points are the compromised trunk space and the increased cost vs the fuel savings.

Sir, but the cost concern was still not addressed. Yes it's 8 years down the road will be "worry free" but after the warranty lapses, then what? Replacing the battery cost as per a GWM sales agent I talked to was quoted approximately in the high P400k...🤢 which is possible given that Toyota's have smaller batteries with replacement quotes reaching around P200k. If I decide to sell the car by then, even without battery issue, the potential buyer would probably low-ball the price because he knows battery replacements could be expensive. I really wanted to buy the H6 but this really is a deal breaker. 😭😭😭

You can now feature the BMW i4 eDrive35 very soon. Fun Fact though, the i4 eDrive35 gets the same rear-mounted electric motor output found in the iX3 M Sport. Unfortunately, no AWD option for the Philippine-spec i4. :(

About the battery warranty, would it be the same with the other hybrid car manufacturers? Because you based it only on what the GWM is offering its clients
