If you have a Windows desktop computer and you want to use a spare laptop as a second screen, you can do that and in this video I’ll show you how.

Thanks for this! I work from home and my work laptop's screen kicked the bucket, but the rest of the machine still works. I used my Nintendo Switch HDMI cable to use my TV as a temporary display, but now that I have the HDMI to USB converter I can use my personal laptop as the screen for my work laptop

Hi, found your video while troubleshooting. for context, my monitor broke down, so I had to use my laptop as a primary monitor for my pc in the meantime. I had success using OBS but unfortunately, there's a significant amount of input lag when I do use the laptop as a monitor. got any tips or workarounds?

Do you need a video capture card to translate to USB, or could you just go directly into the laptop via HDMI?

Good info. I want to use my old laptop's monitor AND keyboard plus the built in speakers with my mini PC. I'll still plug in a mouse to the mini PC, but will hide the mini PC behind the laptop. The mini PC is way more powerful than the old laptop with better graphics and quadruple the memory, I want to skip using separate keyboard and monitor and speakers for the mini PC. The laptop has the monitor, keyboard, speakers and even a trackpad all integrated. Not sure how to use the laptop keyboard to control the mini PC or hear sound from the mini PC though the laptop speakers. Maybe USB...

Hi thanks for this video! Does this method affect the fps? I want my main monitor to still be up there around 100-140 fps, but does connecting a laptop as second monitor this way lower the fps at all? I dont mind the laptop being low on fps, but I want my main monitor to stay up high.
