MCAS Miramar Airshow 2014 - Blue Angels

This slightly longer than usual video covers the Blue Angels display routine at the Miramar Airshow 2014.

Along with the main display you'll also see some footage before and after, including the pilots approaching their aircraft and prepping them for the display.

During this performance the number 6 jet encountered communication issues forcing the pilot to taxi back and enter a standby jet. That's why you'll see two number 4 jets participate in the show towards the end. The majority of the opposing solo passes were performed by a single jet as the 6th jet only entered the air towards the end of the routine.

Apart from these technical issues it still was an awesome performance!

Footage was shot during the Saturday show.

Thanks for sharing. I miss these shows and it gives me pride when I watch. One thing Iiked about being on an aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (Nov 2011-Jan 2014) was the sound of the F/A-18's turning up and watching them practice. I love the sound of jets since I was a kid as always dreamed of being a Naval fighter pilot.

even though they didn't put on a high show in hawaii due to rain it was still amazing and cant wait to see them back in hawaii for 2015 show

Cool video man.  Did Youtube give you any grief about the music playing in the background?  I have a similar video of the performance from Sunday and they gave me some copyright claims on the music that was playing over the loud speakers.  I disputed it under fair use, but we'll see what happens with that...
