That's the prelude of a poem by al-Mutanabbi during his stay in Egypt, in which he criticizes Saif al-Dawla's mistreatment to him indirectly and explains why he decided to leave his court in Aleppo.

Translation is based on @relicsofislam's video but with minor changes :)

I unpublished all the records by Trneem upon his request and will try to find and post the same poems by other reciters Insha` Allah.

I am so happy I found this channel, it has opened a whole new world for me. I didn’t even know arabic poetry was a thing or that it even dates back before islam. I am arab but I am raised in the west so I have lost my native tongue and culture and watching these videos makes me feel like I am connecting back to my roots.
