I drove both back to back when I was going to purchase a 17 F150. I ended up with the 2.7. The hp/tq are relatively the same and also towing capabilities. Fuel economy is definitely in favor for the 2.7 as I’m actually averaging slightly better then advertised. It was definitely day and night when driving the exact same setups. Really the power deliver is much different in the 2.7. Max tq is at 3000rpm vs the 5.0 at 4200rpm. I found the 2.7 much more fun to drive. Not to say the 5.0 isn’t good by any means. It’s just a different type of driving experience. Get what you like. I know a lot trash the ecoboost and likewise for the V8. Really it’s your vehicle and your payment so really, who cares?!

After driving both trucks and being a fan of the 5.0, I have to say the ecoboost is faster. It is a crazy little motor and will surprise the shit out of you when you drive it. The 5.0 is still a great motor but you can't deny the little ecoboost is a beast

the reason the 5.0 l past the 2.7 is because the 2.7 already hit 100 and was slowing down. even if the gearing was the same the ecoboost has a better torque curve and would still kill it.

why isn't the guy who posted this video clarify if the eco boost let off or not. clearly this is the video of the v8 owner and doesn't want to clarify it.I drove all 3 of the 2015 and the 2.7 was fastest then 3.5 and then 5.0. Also would like to add i have a 2014 f150 eco boost with 33" tires and canopy. I have the 91SCT tune with cold air intake and 373 gears. The Stock 2.7 f150 had 373 gears as well and beat me good. Both trucks were crew cab, mine had 6.5 box as 2.7 had 5.5 box

The bumper dip seems as the result of a road dip... but he does seem to let off as the wheels are decelerating... seems he let off, good video though! The truck sounds awesome!

Yeah, my tuned 2015 3.5 Ecoboost runs to 60 in 4.6 seconds. It's making close to 400 hp and 470 tq to the wheels.

both EcoBoost engines can run in the 12 second range with just a tune a 5.0 truck will not do that
