My dad loved Waylon. He crossed paths with him a few times over the years… last time in an airport (St. Louis?). He always took time to talk a few minutes with my dad. My dad and mom took us to see him at Crawfordsville High School in Crawfordsville, Indiana where my parents still live today. That was on May. 6, 1969. I was 6 yrs old. My sister named her son after him.
I still listen to him today… as does my family. THAT VOICE. Love you WAYLON! Thank you for touching our hearts with your song.

Don't cry for Waylon - Waylon lived a good life and for the most part a charmed one -
We all lose people & knowing from experience, some of us lose people at a young age and this permeates our existence - but we deal with it - Waylon Jennings lived large - and he lived well and left us with an amazing collection showcasing his talent

He also narrated a mivie called Outlaw Justice that starred, Travis Tritt, Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson. And for a small bit at the beginning, Waylon himself.

Went to Phoenix to visit a good friend in 2002. Diabetic-multiple amputations & I took him to the Diabetic Surgeon to discuss leg amputation. Met Waylon in the waiting room. He was VERY polite, but looked ill -quite drained. 30:36 Waylon died 2
weeks later, on my birthday 💔🥲💔 My friend died three months later, after refusing leg amputation.
