Anyone who grew up in the 80s and 90s knows the Bundy family - the notoriously dysfunctional tv clan that redefined American sitcoms. At the heart of it all were Al Bundy and his neighbor Marcy Darcy, portrayed by Ed O'Neill and Amanda Bearse in an iconic love-to-hate-them dynamic. But behind the scenes, their working relationship was far from pleasant.

This video delves into never-before-heard insights from Ed O'Neill himself about the Married...with Children co-star he simply could not stand. Years after the show ended, O'Neill finally opened up in candid interviews, shedding new light on the true nature of the discord that pervaded the set for over a decade.

From the early days of easy chemistry between the cast to rising tensions as both characters and real lives evolved, viewers get an inside perspective on how relationships can transform over the course of a long-running show. But no one could have predicted just how hostile things would become between O'Neill and Bearse.

Explosive anecdotes detail the lowest points, including a wedding invitation snub and an all-out fight in front of crew members. For the first time, O'Neill assigns blame without filter for the fractured bond. But the video also provides Bearse's side of events for balance, as unseen tensions and divergent working styles took their toll.

Through never-before-published production details and probing interviews with others who witnessed the decay firsthand, this video pieces together the true story of a feud between two stars who helped shape a new era of TV comedy but found themselves unable to overcome their differences even decades later.

Join us as we uncover what really went down between Al Bundy and his neighbor from hell.

Married with children was the last thing my father saw. He died while watching 2 back to back episodes. That’s how I know he died happy.

Ed O'Neil was the star of the show. If he wanted Amanda Bearse fired, she would have been gone. They could have replaced her in a minute. They couldn't replace him. That was the true power dynamic...and Amanda Bearse knew it.

On the other hand, maybe the fact that they didn't like each other, brought spice to their portrayal.

I love married with children I can care less that they didn’t like each other, they made one of the best shows ever. Wish they still made shows like this.

Never really cared for her character. The show was Ed O'Neill and Katey Segal and the kids.

Thats ok. Meanwhile Ed O'Neill has Modern Family on his resume & Sofia Vergara still adores him "calling him her husband" 👍

Ed and Amanda may have had that beef, but the fact that they fed off each other so well in the craft of acting despite the feud shows me that these are two of the great ones. They performed together magically and my memory of these two will always be their masterclass working with each other in comedy. Bless them both!

Ed was the star, she was support cast.

Ted Mcguinley totally owned the role of Jefferson Darcy but I always though it would have made a fun running joke if Marcy got married every season with her husband running away (or offing himself).

There was an episode where Marcy's cousin(Amanda Bearse in dual roles) pays a visit, and the cousin reveals that she's a lesbian. The funny irony about that episode is that most of the main characters got along better with the cousin instead of Marcy herself😂😂.

No one watched the show to see Bearse. Everyone wanted to see Ed (and Christina). If there's any question about who was beloved on the set, search for the video where he showed up unexpectedly on Applegate's set and watch her emotional and honest reaction.

There was an interview with Ed and he said that Bearse who is a feminist but the man hating type had been a producer and director on a couple episodes and went to the EP and Director wanting Ed fired and was told, MWC can go on without you but cannot and will not without Ed, he said that infuriated her to no end.
