Sorry but website with templates and plans is now down thanks to hackers and running costs.

This is the build for my Mark 2 Captain America shield that you may have seen destroyed when I posted that video a while ago. And, so its easier to build, and cheaper to make for those in the USA I used a Flexi flyer sled like the one below.

Tip: when cutting fiberglass always wear safety goggles and a face mask. Dont want particles of glass in your lungs!

I wonder if keeping the mold you had on the shield and seccuring it somehow would make it even stronger. You'd have the fiber glass as a back plate to the aluminum and than the aluminum to take the first strike. Plus if you made it removable somehow you could replace it quite easy.

i just used the metal sheild and the fiberglass to add dimension thickness that tappered out to the edge and for the bolts . I went with the comics original concept. where the bolts were set up differently for wearing on your back . great job like to see you build a sheild that has depth that tappers to the center . it will have a greater range if thrown . due to the added thickness. have fun enjoy your vids

Hi, would it be possible to add a list of everything needed to build this? (screws, what type, lengths, etc, washer, tools, everything...) so i don't run into any issue of "oh i didnt think about that when i try to build this? :)

a red or grey gelcoat before the resin would give a nearly mirror finish and cut down on painting . also I feel, speaking from experience, those nuts would eventually break out. a large washer held on with a nut would give a much stronger fixing.

just to help out the sheild has thickness in the center that tappers out to the edge . your use of fiberglass is easy to do to build that thickness .

Use the flexible flyer as the shield with some bracing.

Brainfoo TV, I got one question :

Why can't you just use that sled to make the shield ( I mean, just fix belt on the concave side and paint the convex side red white and blue and fix the star) it would be a LOT easier if you don't have fiberglass, csm and even resin

Would this do good for a Christmas present?

Hi. Nice job. Quick question though. do you use any hardener with the Bondo raisin ? Thanks to answer and keep up with the nice work.

At the start of the video, i thought you were gonna use the sled, but this is just as cool.

Hi Brainfoo TV
Do you custom made it and sell?
If you do, i can get order for you.

What about 2 flying sleds bolted with an Oreo layer of DIY kevlar?

What would happen if instead of trying to use the sled cutout as a mold, you encased the steel mold in the fiberglass making it a part of the shield. I understand this would make it very heavy but it would increase its durability by a lot. I think it would be a cool idea to try out and then attempt to destroy.

Did you use resin hardener? If yes did you just apply one layer or one layer after you finished the resin for one layer
