Why does Kim jong want foreign cars when he doesn't tolerate even foreign clothes?

Actually during the cold war it was much more easier. NK will send cargo jets to Easten European countries. NK agents will source goods from Western Europe and cross the Iron Curtain. Load the goods on the plane and fly them to NK.

That means you can do everything
If you have a lot of money
Nobody cares about who you are
Even a bad guy😂

He could literally buy them in China and drive them straight over the border. Why doesn't he? While it would be far easier, it would also be far more expensive. Even Kim is on a budget.

Where there's a will there's is a way.
You can never stop smugglers because when you do another one will pop up so you're fighting a losing battle.

The credit to the story should go to The New York Times - Visual Investigation Series.❤

Looks like the car manufacturer could build something into the car via satellite to control the operation. If the satellite is found and tampered with, it would render the vehicle useless.

It goes dark when it enters the underground tunnels that connects NK to Chinna

Money is always a friend. The owner of it is immaterial.

This video is basically a copy of the new york times investigation publised 3 years ago, even down to quotes, graphics and details. I'm surprised that no one noticed this blatant act of plagiarism or copying. The original video is here:

Would be a nice trick to plant some electronic devices on these cars and make him easier to target

In 90s we in Serbia had total UN sanctions..like even oil and medicine was banned for import..everything was sanction for us ..but still if you watch old videos from Belgrade motor shows in 90s it had almost all models on display like in Geneva.
I remeber how my father bought gasoline, i went with him few times ..he would go to border with Bulgaria, he would bring lot of empty canisters ..there was field where Bulgarians came, some with cars, tractors, truck..anything..they would empty their reservoirs, there were lot off buyers and sellers on that empty field..my father would buy enough for few months and then return
