If this is your first time getting to 10% body fat, here’s the truth you need to know if you want to avoid all the mistakes and get results.

About the video:
The honest truth is that most people trying to get to 10% body fat won’t get there. A big reason for that is information overload, lack of clarity, and having the wrong expectations. Even though there’s a lot of knowledge out there about calories, macros, different diets, cardio, weight training… information alone is not enough. The journey below 15% body fat is a mental game as well. And it’s important that you know how to properly prepare yourself so you can be consistent, make the right adjustments, and ultimately reach your goal.

This is why in this video I share a couple of points that no one talks about and that are critical for your success if you want to get to a lower body fat percentage. Whether your goal is to 15% body fat or 12% body fat or 10% body fat, this is the truth you need to know about what it looks like to get lean and what you can expect on your fitness journey.

"I'll start weight training later, after I cut" is something I've heard a few times and it's really just wasting a lot of time. Lifting is really important!

"Who am I becoming?" is a great way to frame falling in love with the process!

Awesome topic to cover. I recomped through my noob gains period and landed at 155 lbs. with 10% body fat at 5ft 10in. When I told my friends, they thought I had an eating disorder until they saw me in person and realized how aesthetic that weight can actually be. Obviously, I want to begin a lean bulk and put on the kind of muscle mass that Mario has, but I just wanted to share my anecdotal story of how detached we have become, at least in America, to what natural healthy body weights are.

I can attest to his first point. I'm 179 and didn't manage to look good, lean with abs till I got to 72kg after 4 years of training (down from 103kg). Didn't expcect such a low weight after getting lean. It takes time and dedication guys, don't try to aggresively cut until at least 2 years of consistent training.

So true about the whole lean body weight. Honestly it’s hilarious how many people think 180lbs lean is some easy task. You have to very muscular and probably have already lifted for many years to achieve that level of size while remaining lean.

Thanks, Mario, for another "reality check" lesson. The last 3 to 4 days have been rough, but you inspired me to get a grip and get back with it. "Becoming" is hard. But the rewards are long lasting.

Great sensible advice as usual. Ups/down happen all the time. Learning to live with the changes is crucial. Diet has ups/downs just as training. Once day I bench 165 for 10, next session it maybe 8 or 6. It is ok. Just put the effort. No one progresses linearly. It does not happen. Take your time, look at the big picture. Patience, perseverance and humility.

I needed this video bad. The last 4-6 weeks or so I have been struggling to get back on track. I hit my goal weight in May after cutting for 6 months. Been feeling really down on myself for backsliding. Thanks for the motivation.

I`m 70kg right now (used to be 89 around May last year). My goal is to drop below 10% or at 10% and try to maintain around 12-14% body fat throughout the year later on. Thanks for the video. I`ll keep grinding.

I'm 48 and just want the 6 pack. I've been at it for 2 months with a calorie deficit.
scale says I am 172 (5'11") with 18% bodyfat and 37.7# muscle... Almost have a 4 pack now.
Wish me luck!

"Who am I becoming" is such a powerful question. Thank you so much for this.

Who am I becoming in this long game? Great question to revisit as we navigate too much information, mistakes, doubt, and boredom! This is why coaching and a support group is valuable. Big accomplishments occur in collaboration with others. 🙌🏽

The timing of this video couldn’t be better, especially the first half. I’ve dropped 9kg in the last 12 months and at the weight I’m now at I’m shocked that my body weight still sits around 16/17%. I assumed it would be much low at this weight
