This is how I built an aviary under the back deck for the cockatiels, parrots, and quail.
in this start to finish video, I provide a few tips and reasons why Ive selected certain materials and I show you how I built it.
The build was simple and relatively cheap.
I hope it helps you when you start planning your aviary.

I hope that you can also help other by providing your tips in the comments below.

I would have made an enclosed nesting area at the far end. Where the birds can relax out of sight. They can enter through holes cut in the wall. I'm just planning on building one myself. Got to put a concrete base down first. Great video. I think I'll go for the aluminium frame too. Keep the pesky mine out. Cheers mate. Gary, WA.

That was crazy when you painted it. Looks absolutely amazing mate. I’m looking at doing a big aviary like this next year for my birds. Thanks for the tips with the aluminium frame and the corner pieces 👍👍👍

Speaking from experience here, when you paint the mesh instead of using a foam roller use a lambswool one, the long fibres effectively pass though the mesh and apply paint all round rather than just on the front face. You get a far better coverage and it's actually much quicker too.

Thank you very much for posting. This is much more preferable than PVC or timber and I never woulda thought to use it. Building an indoor aviary for my conures this fall I hope. Awesome video and very informative! Wishing you well.

Nice! Only thing I would do differently is instead of joining the separate pieces of mesh with wire, I would have added another full length of the aluminum tubing to back/secure each piece(upper and lower) individually, avoiding any overlap and adding a bit more integrity.

Stunning job done I would have made it wider but apart from that really good job

Great video and very helpful. I can't help wondering if it would be a better idea to attach the mesh to the frame before it goes up as it would save a bit of fiddling... Just a thought.

Hi mate, great video! What did you use to fix the mesh onto the aluminium tubes? Are they rivet nuts from Bunnings? Cheers!

Thank you so much for the video and instructions. It would be so much nicer without the music. Just my opinion. But, thank you for a great video.
