I got a new Dell G15, loads of stuff didn't work, it was running like trash and so hot. After giving up I reinstalled windows and it fixed every single issue, it's wild these manufacturers do this to us!

To clarify: This has to do with the bloatware that manufacturers tend to have pre-installed on laptops and pre-built desktop PCs. Less programs running = Less RAM used!

Windows likes to eat ram. I tend to see around 20% usage and thats with 128gbs of ram. When chrome said it likes alot of ram windows up and said "hold my beer".

I actually tried the goat thing for my "I buy Power Supplies desktop" and it went for single channel ram to dual channel.

It's always fun finding the drivers for your specific laptop too. I prefer just disabling and uninstalling stuff thats using resources

as a pc builder/fliper check your bios first asus has a setting in the bios to install bloatware like armory crate upon fresh os install.

So this would not work as it would reinstall those ram hogs.

Just download more RAM

Also, make sure to check your windows install periodically. Windows will install random crap that will start itself on boot

Also debloating stock windows helps even more

Alternatively... Do a fresh install of any Linux distro. Most of those use a metric fawktonne less ram than Winderps.

The amount of junk that runs in the background of Windows 11 for literally no reason or purpose is incredibly infuriating. I clear out my task manager everytime I do a reboot or turn it on sfter it being dead or turned off for awhile.

The only way to increase ram is through software upgrade, my ram went from 16gb to 1tb
