In approximately 1 minute, Alastor managed to take over Vox' show, gain a new following of listeners, smoothly compliment the other two Vees, and annoy Vox to such a point he caused an entire city to blackout.
And Vox made all of that possible by starting the talk about Alastor in the first place. He must be so MAD right now

Man I LOVE the voice actor for Alastor. Sometimes I do miss the guy from the pilot and his perfect transatlantic accent but this dude just gets SO into it

Got me thinking it feels like Vox accidentally gave more power to Alastor. I mean radio is audio only but tv is video and audio combined not to mentioned he probably revolutionized music and got podcasts going mainstream thanks to velvette. So even though Alastor was gone for 7 or 15 years doesn’t mean his powers was gone because Vox was giving it to him on a silver platter for free.

The best thing about this rivalry is Vox has a lot to lean on, and somehow he still isn’t on Alastor’s level. He seems much more approachable, he’s a good talker which allows him to sell products, he has the more modern tech, and he even has an alliance with Valentino and Velvette. Yet somehow, even though Alastor literally strikes the fear of god into demons with his presence alone, no alliances with overlords, and even heavily outdated tech, he knows Vox is weaker, only deriving a lot of his power from his social skills, alliances and tech. This is even exemplified by the fact that Alastor, despite being the one using older technology, overtook Vox’s screens for a minute, but Alastor uses an old TV in the hotel which Vox wouldn’t be able to access. It’s incredible what the writers did

It's really interesting how much power alastor has over vox, instead of getting defensive, he simply picks at vox's insecurities in the most eloquent ways and chooses the most damning ones speaking slower so they're more remembered than vox's multitudinous damning ones that are spoken so fast it's hard to remember them all.
