If we sell O’Reilly with no players in the board has taken Rogers for a mug again and us At this rate, we could end up with Beale As manager, what a shambles

Remember we are already in the Champions League! There is NO qualification! It was all about not signing players until we were in the competition but they haven’t got that excuse. Stockpiling money in a football club is a farce! £8 m to the taxman because of the mentality of the board! That money should be invested in the squad!🤯

I share the frustration but I think it’s too early to get depressed. The club admitted failure at last window. BR has set out his stall. If the club fails to deliver by end of Aug then it’s definitely mutiny time. But there is still time for us to have a decent window.

As far as Europe goes I was disappointed that Ange didn't give it one more season at Celtic, it needs continuity, had he improved our standing in CL he could have ended up at a bigger club than Spurs. Judge Brendan on his second crack at it with 8 games. We need continuity in Europe with the coach and the team. Signings will come, the nucleus of the team needs to go in on form and less slack than they were last season. I think we will see a difference, still not overly worried. I kind of agree with Tommy's outlook on the Simon Weir episode. Calm doon!

When fans sit there and suggest paying £80k a week wages, you know this conversation is entirely emotion based and all logic has been completely suspended.
Fans want players we simply can’t attract. Established CL quality. Me too. But I accept it isn’t viable.
Established CL quality players don’t come to leagues like ours. Nor should they. That’s the first hurdle. Established CL quality players command fees that would allow us to buy 3 max. Maybe even 2. Established Cl quality players require wages way beyond our top level. And to break that to the extent we’d have to is again emotion eradicating logic.
But let’s assume we did push that boat out. What do you want for that cost? What is “progress in Europe”? We’re not talking Europa. We’re all talking Cl, so let’s be clear on that. So what do we think spending all that money (which we can’t because that quality doesn’t come here anyway) would get us? How much CL progress? One more round of fixtures?
2 more?
At best you’re getting one more round of fixtures. Let’s be honest. For all that money.
It’s actually economically preposterous. And in a sporting sense, what does that really represent? Without a genuine chance to compete for prizes, the question of deeper investment relative to progress becomes very interesting.

I don’t want my club buying players over £10m. Or paying wages way beyond whats already on offer. It’s chasing a rabbit you can’t catch. It’s the route to sevco.
But I do want my club to stop buying dross at £2-5m in this recruitment system they have that looks more like they’re just moving cash.
I want much better for my £2-5m before we spend 10.
I honestly think that’s our pathway. Much better procurement of players from a vast market. Within our reasonable budget. And much better home grown to compliment that.

People often cite other sparsely resourced clubs being able to achieve things in the CL as an example. Can we more accurately explain that. Someone in the comments referenced Rosenberg. I mean that’s more than twenty years ago. Literally. A different world. And what was that success? About 3 years with a couple of scalps. Then it was over. And now they look like what?
Someone said to look at Ajax for success. Look at what exactly? 1995? Or that one season recently where they had a good run and pumped sevco?
Are these really the blueprints we are presenting as examples of success?
We sometimes get so desperate to support our own arguments we even make up success that doesn’t exist.
We look for that one team that reaches beyond its means for a season and cite that as something of an example of how we should be doing things. Without any real scrutiny or follow up. We don’t mention that after that one run, it was over.
Thats luck. Not a blueprint.
It’s also weird that these conversations are constant among us, with the tone they’re conducted in, against a backdrop of the greatest sustained period of success in the cubs entire history.
Just be better at finding players who *will* be CL quality. Again, not easy but we can be better at it than we are now.
P.s. I need get off backshifts and fill my mornings.

Board focus on scraping league win against SevCo with a minimum spend. If SevCo implode early in the season they'll spend less. Long term trends are pointing to globalisation and elite Euro league. Celtic and incompetent board going the other way.

Why are people saying that if O'Riley leaves, we have to replace him. To me, the club think that they already have that player in PAULO BERNARDO. He's fully integrated into the team and how we play and the teams that we play. All he needs is a run of games to really kick on.

Funny how when our players are being sold we hear about it constantly but when we are looking to buy its silence
and just watch how fast the sale takes compared to us buying its always the same get this board to F .

Sorry to play devils advocate I love O’Riley i really do and hope he stays but can’t see it. I don’t think we’ll get £30m for him. He is a £30m player easily if he played in the EPL. But because he plays in Scotland folk won’t go to £30m for him. Just my hunch. Bookmark this if I’m wrong 😂

25 to 30 million is pocket change down south and most top leagues, if O'Reilly played for Everton and performed half as well as last season he'd be worth much more than our price tag!!!

well done comment sign Miovski now, and then sign Idah when Norwich are ready to be big boys.

Miovski is a counter attacking striker. No use for our team against the mega low block we will face every week. Get big Adam in, he’s proved himself

Celtic will bring in more players, it is highly unlikely that celtic will not sign at least 1 striker and a left back and if mor gies a replacement for him. Some of those players may be loans though which would be bad unless loan to buy. If celtic dpnt do this then what is BR doing as well as the money men behind the scenes?

Owen Beck or another LB and a CF is the bear minimum.

On the Kyogo pen, if McCrorie had tapped Kyogo's knee, it'd be a pen. He's gone full Giant Haystacks, and the refs have been flummoxed.

Where's the evidence of the price going up when a club knows you have money? Took two months tae sign Bernado and Idah still no in the door lol

The problem is keeping a player who may fancy a move. I’m sure Brendan. Is the answer to that question. If he’s sold try and source a better player. Ultimately Desmond doesn’t want to invest in Celtic and the sooner he leaves or retires the better.
