Buying a $10,000 hot hatch series, continuing with the 2014 Ford Fiesta ST. $10,000 CAD is $8,000 USD. Will the Ford Fiesta ST live up to its award winning pedigree? Did Jakub get the deal of the century on it at $10,000 CAD / $8,000 USD? Will Jakub's Fiesta ST be the better overall car versus Yuri's Fiat 500 Abarth?

Huge thanks to Krown Rust Protection for sponsoring this series

Yuri: "Heel-toe shifting is awful in here"
Also Yuri: **wears crocs with socks while driving**

Yuri's pronounciation of Canadian for the price always brings joy to me.

As a Fiesta ST Owner for 3 years now, it's the first car I actually don't see what I can replace it with for the same price point except for a newer lower mileage Fiesta ST.

I’ve had my 14 ST 8 years now and I’m still in love with it, it just turned 90, 000 it’s on a stage two Cobb tune, 3” exhaust short shift kit and a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4’s, it’s the most fun I’ve ever had driving and I’m 72 years young. The Fiesta Flash. 🤙🏼🍺

LOL Jakub's reaction when the car turned into him was literally perfect.

As an owner of a FiST, you have no idea how long I've been waiting for you guys to drive one of these. Few things:

Yuri. I'm on Bilsteins right now and the ride quality is actually much better than stock. The stock suspension is actually overdampened and you start noticing it more over bad bumps or broken pavement. But the stock suspension does handle amazing without them, I'll give you that.

Turning ESC all the way off does soften the brake trq just a little, but it's still there.

Watching you guys do the visors knowing what was about to come next was like watching a car wreck before it soon?

My main takeaway from this review:

Crocs with socks? Officially a dad. 8:38 They are even freakin camo. This guy. Embracing that dadlife.

The original owner certainly took good care of it. The inside looks immaculate.

8:40 when your Piloti shoes sponsorship ends and you go back to heel-toeing in your Crocs

I’ve had this as my daily for just about 2 years. Simply put, it is the best newish car for the money on sale today. The car has handled everything - carrying people, large items (like IKEA furniture or a large freezer), snow, rain, dirt, and of course carving backroads in a “spirited” fashion. No understeer whatsoever, it’s shocking how balanced this car is.

I recently moved cross country in late January, and drove this with a massive Thule box on top, and the majority of my clothes/possessions inside (even the summer tires!). With Blizzaks it can handle anything up to 12” of unplowed snow before getting stuck, and FWD just fine in any US city. It’s 2700lbs, so as light as an MX5 or S2K, being just as fun with way more practicality. And the power is more than OK... it feels way quicker than 197HP and 0-60 in 6.5...

I’ve thought about trading for a Focus RS, STI, or Evo X one day, but just can’t do it. Don’t believe the extra payments would be worth it.

I’d recommend the FiST to anyone. They are awesome!

Sport mode: traction and ESC both turned down to 20%
Hold button: traction and ESC both fully off.
The braking the inside wheel is always on.

Jakub's smile at 0:41 is pretty much my grin every time I drive my ST, they're NOT fast but damn it feels like a rocketship and it's so engaging.

Both of my sons have owned Fiesta STs, both in black, and they both loved them. My oldest son reluctantly sold his earlier this year. My younger son's 2014 ST is a little more worn out and needs some work. He just bought something new and the dealership didn't really want the ST, so that was our excuse. We are going to keep it and make it our hobby car. We will do minor upgrades, take it out when the weather is nice, and enjoy occasionally flogging it. There is a corner near us that is our "cliche corner", a right hand turn lane between two 80 km/hr roads, and the Fiesta can take it at surprisingly fast speeds. I remember Jeremy Clarkson saying that there were 5 spots on his drive to work for passing, but that he found a sixth when driving the ST. I'm looking forward to a bit of father/son/grandson bonding time working on and driving a car that we all really like. We will be tracking the progress and reviews of your upgrades to see if we want to try any of them.

i drove Uber in a FiST for about a year and people absolutely loved it. yeah it was small but that was only an issue a few times when people underestimated how much luggage they had. lots of compliments, people always surprised i drove a manual in the city. i slapped some black sparco wheels on it and tinted the windows super dark and just drove the shit out of it. i can see myself having one again someday.

That's the one down side about the Fiesta ST. I've had mine for about two months now and I've had multiple people almost hit me because they don't check their blind spots or can't see my small car even if they do. It's crazy how many people don't look before they switch lanes.

My daughter bought a 2019 Fiesta ST and she loves it. Even learned to drive a stick. That makes me proud!

Love my 2016 FiST with stage 2, white with a black wrapped roof, it makes driving to work such a joy.

Pro tip: real easy to slide the back end out with a quick turn and punch of throttle

In Canada the Recaros are standard, but for the US models, they're a ~$2000 option. The standard seats are the same as the base Fiesta's, but with ST logos.
