Jerry uses this lick on one of his tunes. I can't recall which one. He buries it a wee bit but it's the same notes. It works great on Southern Nights. I sang it last night on karaoke. It's a great song.

Southern Nights was not a Glen Campbell song, it was written and originally recorded by Allen Toussaint, he rented rights for singing and recording it to Glen Campbell, not ownership.

That's not quite right.the bass ascent is f#, g#, A, Bb, B.C#, D, Eb, E chord, I The treble descent is G, F#, E, D, B, Bb, A, G, E chord.
