This has to be one of the best songs ever made. Everything about it is pure and absolute perfection. The vocals. The arrangements. The instruments, especially those strings lilting above it all just so subtly, yet audibly. The lyrics. EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS SONG IS PERFECT!!

Yet another song I've always loved, and I never knew it was Burt's. Dionne was the perfect singer for Burt's music. I wish that when I briefly met Burt, I'd told him all the music he wrote that never made the charts was so much better than what's out there today. One of the highlights of my life was seeing a reunion concert of Dionne and Burt in the 80's.
