EXTREME AERIAL PHOTOGRAPHY | Hanging out of a Helicopter

This was my first time shooting out of a helicopter with the doors off, yes the doors were completely open the entire flight. The good news was that I had a harness on just in case I fell out.

Gear used on this shoot.

"You really need to be careful changing your lenses when you're in the helicopter."

Amen to that, brother.

My job entails hanging out of a helicopter. I only recently started taking photographs while working. Its a feeling like no other. Bad ass man, this channel has helped me tremendously.

Working in Crime scene for many years I had the opportunity to spend many hours in our Agency helicopters taking images for cases and the occasional personal photos. There is nothing like being able to fly with the doors open. A few years ago I had the opportunity to fly doors off in Hawaii, and it was a lifetime experience.

Amazing work, Jared. I am so jealous. I can't stand that I'm grinding 55-65 hours a week at this damn third shift factory job. I know locations. I have the equipment, and more importantly I have the vision. I've been published, sold prints... I just, need time. I live these experiences with you, Jared, through these videos. I feel like you're my best friend that I've never met. I know sometimes things look dark, but man, just know I look up to you. You can't receive enough praise for what you've made. Thank you.

That was 400 - 500 feet, not 5000.
For safety, I tether all my cameras and gear into the helicopter. Camera bags clipped to the floor, cameras on Peak Design leashes. Zero loose items! Hoodie up and headset on top to hold down hair movement.
I get my feet out on the skids and lean out!

I know you hate cropping and all but, for the love of God, level out those horizons!

I love how the helicopter has a Canon color scheme: black, white, and red!

49 started with an attitude as by all the thumbs down they must have been Jealous. Haters gonna hate. Jared very happy for you and the smile you had on was priceless. I have to agree with Kyle Medina as the editing was off the hook. Stephen you out did yourself.
