So? I mean the commentary on Peter Lombard's sentences was in the 1240s but the summa which his main work was written later. Plus David Bentley Hart who's very anti-Thomist is still nonetheless one of the staunchest advocates of divine simplicity alive and equates denial of divine simplicity to atheism. The "Church Fathers" have become so venerated over the millennia, that their opinions in all their writings are made comparable to the Scripture itself.
Whether said outright or unknowingly so.

And to consider them fallible and having wrong opinions on some matters, is considered taboo, but in a hushed and suttle church culture tone.

I myself consider none of these fellow servants and brothers and sisters in Christ to be my "Church Fathers". I have one Father in Heaven, and if there are any who "Fathered" the Church beside Jesus, then it is the Apostles alone, who walked with Him.

I take the opinions of these "Church Fathers" born hundreds of years after the Church began, like I take the opinions of theologians of our current day;
I'll consider your thoughts and listen, and decline any opinions that are incorrect.
