He is 'unashamed' to call us..., brother (sister). A sister to the King of Kings is known as a Princess. A neither to THE King..., is known as a Prince.
His Dignity, His Integrity, His Honor, His Reputation..., must affect our countenance and demeanor to fellow members of the body AND, must definitely to the world.
It is not a 'duty' to be 'performed'...., it IS intrinsic to our new nature and must be acquiesced to for furthering His Kingdom! :-)
Kings and Priests...., all who believe. So, what does that say about our puny 'worldly knowledge or experiences', even though..., they may have caused deep hurt and pain in YOUR life?
God, no, ...Father cares so richly and so deeply for the very issues that have caused you to separate, isolate or self-protect from Him and others in the world..., that HE brought you UP to His 'station' of King and Priest!!
Never feel guilty or shamed. Those things cannot come from Father towards His children..., whom He bought, and BROUGHT into HIS royalty. You are dignified, full of integrity, honor and power to take dominion and begin to 'call those things that aren't, as though they WERE!'
Do you understand the authority and power Father HAS given you? :-)
it is not primarily FOR you..., though. Yes, you get healed, filled with confidence in understanding your STANDING in Him..., but it is FOR, primarily, the REST of and IN..., the body! We ask need reminding of who we are in Christ!

Remember: you can not 'let God down'. You're NOT HOLDING Him UP!

Father is/was, completely assuaged in the complete and finished work of Christ!
We ARE now, Kings and Priests in the Kingdom. It's foolishness to the world and the religious who wish to continue talking about: separation, or sin, or not measuring up, etc.

Of course we don't 'measure up'! That's the crux..., pun intended, of the Gospel of Grace!

We didn't measure up, but as believers.., we do NOW! Be blessed in the Truth in Jesus today!
