How to strip the ends of MICC (make off MI or Pyro) cable using a rotary stripper. I demonstrated stripping MICC using the rotary stripper which is a lot easier to master than learners and apprentice electricians think If you remember to use lubricant. It is important to master the skills required to strip MI cable as it is a required of City and Guilds and EAL Electrical qualifications.

A couple of close up pictures might have made it more interesting partially of the end result with regard to the Students as they may have not have come across this ‘’ Strange Cable’’ 😉 but all in all well done 👍

Not strange, but rare these days. This was called Pyro or M.I. in the UK & used for fire alarm circuits and high or very low temp environments; boiler houses and cold stores. Sparks run a mile from it these days, its like cryptonite.
