The Corncrake's call could once be heard across the Irish countryside. Now fewer than 200 male corncrakes survive, confined to our west and northwest coasts.

Many of these areas are Gaeltacht regions, where the need to protect and preserve Ireland's heritage is acutely felt. The Corncrake LIFE Project team will work with these communities to ensure this iconic bird is not silenced forever.
