A closer pass of the same helicopter. The sound of these old choppers doesn’t compare to the ones made today.

Actually the chop was a blessing and a curse. In Nam we would be glad to hear them coming ..supplies incoming.. wounded out. But also the chop gave you away. Charlie knew you were coming long before you got there. They either had time to di di mau, or prepare for what they were going to do.

Who would have known this would be one of my most watched videos! Thanks everyone for watching and subscribing! I’ll definitely put more content like this out when I can! 👍

I believe their sound is because it's a two bladed main rotor, and the rotor blades are pretty are not many two-bladed helicopters made anymore. The 206 JetRanger and LongRanger have a bit of the Huey sound, but they are lighter/smaller. 3 and 4 bladed rotors sound more like a ripping buzz. Listen to the Bell 407, completely different sound

Meanwhile in the Philippines...

"Say cheese!"
Context: Huey helicopters here are used outside of the military for birds-eye view recording by TV stations.
