Josephus nor Tacitus NEVER MET the biblical Jesus. Literally EVERYTHING they wrote came to them 2nd or 3rd hand. And you can’t even trust any of the apostles who personally knew Jesus to be simply reporting Facts. Followers had little idea what to do after Jesus was crucified. Many just left the cult. But the “hard core” disciples decided to continue to spread the word, embellishing the entire story in order to make Christianity more attractive.
A couple HUNDRED yrs or so the Christian community was divided on theology, doctrines, dogma, etc. It wasn’t until Emperor Constantine converted to Christianity during the beginning decades of the “church”. And it was HE that unified all the various sects or denominations into one unified institution. And after that gathering, they also selected an agenda for the church, and it was that agenda that was the bottom line on church doctrine & dogma. But that was 300 yrs AFTER Jesus. Imagine Americans being just as aware that Donald Trump is a Felon and campaigning for “President” ?? Just as an example, how screwed up & morally bankrupt the American voting public must be to want to (re) elect a man to lead America who is a CONVICT !! I know from that very suggestion that half of America (the most Christian country in the world) appears to have completely abandoned the notion of righteousness, honor, self-sacrifice, etc . I mean, the biggest groups supporting Trump are the Evangelicals. And that they are supporting Trump, I have to assume that other Americans simply don’t care about the sustainability of the American democracy.
