This might sound crazy, i love the looks of the M2C, but do not like the S55 exhaust note. To me M2-OG (N55) sounds way better than the M2C (S55)

Great video! I own a 2018 BSM LCI M2 myself, but both are fantastic cars. There will always be legitimate reasons to go for one or the other, but we should all just be thankful we have such great cars to choose from these days!

When I was looking to buy an M2 in 2018, the new model with the S55 came out. I heart it at the dealer, and quickly decided I ABsOLUTELY needed the N55 sound. New N55 LBB was almost sold out through out Canada and I had to "import it" myself from Vancouver to Montreal. My neighbor owns a M4 with the S55, and every morning, when he starts his car to go to work, I feel bad for him...:) He might do 0-60 a couple tenths of a second faster than me, but how often do you do 0-60 runs anyways? but the sound of the N55, every day I hear it, and every day it makes me grin.

Great vid as usual Paul. It was your original ownership logs that helped make me decide to get my own LCI in mineral grey. No regrets at all, and whilst I like the power bump on the Comp', the sound of the N55 wins hands down for me.

Great video! The sound from the LCI is so much nicer. Even though I have fitted my M2C with an akrapovic exhaust, it doesn´t sound half as good. The only time the M2C sounds OK is when you rev it to the limit. Then it sounds pretty nice. But I guess that is the price you have to pay. In the future, these type of cars will just sound less and less due to all the coming regulations.

Great vid, obviously the n55 sounds a lot the s55 exhaust routing is apparently the issue. But it doesn’t sound hideous. I’ve had my lci for over two years and love the thing.... it’s a keeper. Loved all your previous vids on your old car. Helped me with my decision to buy mine. If I was new to the M2 then I’d get the comp but I wouldn’t exchange the sound for the seats and features.... it would feel like I’ve swapped the sound for those and paid 20k plus for the privilege and that’s just not worth it in my opinion. Sound is such a big part of a performance car.

I really like that you make these videos. I am a newbie to BMW world and these simple comparisons are SO helpful

M2 with n55 sounds much better, but in M2C you can finally turn off parking sensor when you want 😆😆

Just bought an M2C, coming from an M140i its night and day... but a little stiffer. A small price to pay! Hope you get your M2C soon bro!

Subscribed , good comparison Paul, I already know some of the differences but it was really interesting not just the exhaust comparison but going through the idrive settings, keep it up

Before buying an M2C I had a comparison between two at a dealer. I couldn’t tell if the M2C was inferior to M2 OG. Someone says the twin turbo makes sounds a bit suppressed but I think it is more to do with OPF deployed in M2C. In Australia we don’t have the opf. When the engine reaches rpm 5k it sounds like a gun shooting, very loud.

Man the LCI sounds amazing! Hands down better than the competition.

You don’t need to set M1 to the softest settings. The car actually has three setting: initial, M1 & M2. When you are in M1 an repress M1 button you go back to initial.

LCI all the way.. the speed gap is no different than compared to an M3 and the sound is night and day better (I cannot express this enough, it is infinitely better).
It's the reason I chose an LCI over an M4 in the first place... a forged N55 sounds incredible and a S55..well, doesn't.

Did the proportions change a bit? I’m not sure what it is but the OG M2 seems to look smaller and sleeker (dare I say sexier?), while the M2C looks a bit bulkier. Both awesome cars regardless 👌

I sold my M2 and wanted to buy an M2 CS... but in the end I decided for an 8 years old 1M with just 4000 km (paid as new). Frankly speaking the 1M is another world... and it is immune from depreciation. So far BMW has been producing at least 50’000 M2s... and for example here in Switzerland you can find new M2s Competition for just CHF 60k.

Do the illuminated M2 badges on the seats increase the hp? Think I prefer the LCI exhaust.
