At the Mexican Grand Prix, Max Verstappen finally faced some consequences for his aggressive defensive driving with his divebomb defence finally earning him a penalty. It came after questions over the stewarding decisions at the US Grand Prix which saw Lando Norris pick up a penalty during a battle with Verstappen, though that was correct by the letter of the law. However, one steward who was involved in the Mexican Grand Prix has made some statements which have brought his decision making into question. Are the FIA stewards biassed against Verstappen? Or is Johnny Herbert’s role as pundit and steward acceptable? Well let’s check it out.

Johnny should not be an FIA Steward. He is completely biased - as is Sky F1. The way Christian Horner & Max are interrogated highlights their bias.
It’s a real shame & is detracting from the great driving on the track

Jhonny did it again. No penalty for Lando or George for infringements

Herbert should be fired and Damon hill is as biased against verstapen. Neither of them was great drivers, then you have two faced brundell back stabbing any body that's not British . has anybody thought to ask Nigel mansel what he thinks ?? . Do you all want a bigger spoon to enjoy that massive slice of humble pie you all have on your plates .

Herbert should be fired asap, he's so blatently biased against anyone who is not British and very jealous of Max's achievements, which he could'nt aspire to as a driver. I loved the day he asked Alonso when he was going to retire. Alonso replied I am a double world champion who are you, you are a nothing

If he is so impartial, why didn't Leclerc get a punishment for swearing during the interview after the race ?

Johny Herbert hates Max, I can still remember how pathetic Herbert was back in the days.
Jealousy is a disease Johny

Funny how all those pundits like Herbert and Brundle were second-rate drivers that never won an F1 title.

If Herbert ever drove even remotely aggressively at any point in his career, people are going to find that out and rip him apart as a hypocrite, so he better hope he's not throwing stones at a glass ceiling. It's already hypocritical that he says Max is too agressive but that Lando has to be more aggressive. It's bad when Max does it, but fine when someone else does.

"If there is a car that makes contact with another car, it's a ten-second penalty full stop." Now watch me expose a liar. In Las Vegas last year, Max got a penalty for "forcing" Charles off track. While it did initially look intentional, during the replays, we got a replay from inside the Red Bull that showed what actually happened was that the car lost grip and slid off before Max could catch it (we see him turn the wheel, but that car does not turn, indicating a loss of grip; it only turns when Max yanks the wheel hard over a second time, too late to keep it on track). Meanwhile, Carlos in his desperation to get back to the front, messed up his braking, hit Lewis, pushing Lewis into a Haas, which then collided with Perez. Carlos did not recieve ANY penalty for causing a four car collision.

Believe it or not, Herbert is just the tip of the iceberg. Look at Tim Mayer, who is both a steward in races AND the Chairman of the Stewards. Mayer is the son of Ted Mayer >>>***WHO IS THE CO-FOUNDER OF MCLAREN F1 TEAM***<<<. I haven't seen this level of conflict of interest since the days of bribes and match riggings.

Great video. Herbert should not be a F1 steward. It’s a disgrace for influencing a championship this much.

Total bias by Herbert, should definitely be removed!!

Herbert does seem to have a grudge against Max. He is supposed to be impartial, but that feeling should not be taken into the decision making room with the other stewards.

Johny Herbert should be fired! He is not impartial and has never been. Whole F1 is too British.

2.57 so Max has the intention not to let Norris pass in the Championship, ohoh my, what wisdom of Herbert! What he is trying to say is that Max should Norris pass and give him the points for free, lmao, yeahhhh right, and if Max does not so, Johnny is going to take care of it, or what?😮😮

When there are questionable decisions, Herbert is involved. His outspoken stance on drivers should permit him from being steward. And with respect to Mayer, as son of the founder of McLaren, he can’t possibly be steward too. Not that there is any proof of impartiality from his side, it is just not done.

Horners correct. What other sport allows Referees or Stewards to make media statements?Herbert has always hated Max in particular and Red Bull generally. The British bias is extraordinary.

I don't think a steward should have any other role in F1. They need to be removed from and sway or feelings.

The fact you start the video saying "finally facing consequences", tells you are also anti-verstappen biased.
