Those types of staplers are used to put half inch staples into hardwoods and plywood. If he had actually stapled his head with those it would have went into his skull.

I’ve seen this a billion times, and 99% of the time people think he was LEGITIMATELY stapling his hat to his head…… does no one understand a joke when they see one??

He’s joking (without saying anything) that his hat won’t stay on his head (while filming) unless he does something drastic like “stapling” his hat to his head. It’s a joke, he’s pretending with an empty stapler.

Can we please stop assuming the man put literal staples in his head to film The Last Crusade?

He didn't actually staple the hat to his head, he was just joking. It was a rule that unless scripted the hat always had to stay on Indy's head, and if it fell off they'd have to restart the sequence. Since it was very easy to knock the hat off, it was a massive annoyance for everyone.

I recently heard that harrison ford stapled the hat to his head and i thought it maybe plausible especially when yhey said their is footage. In my head he was using an office stapler, and i could maybe believe that. No way he would use that staple gun to shoot it into his head. It is a funny joke though
