Concerns Pope Francis will ‘crackdown’ on Latin Mass

Sky News Australia and The Spectator Australia contributor Rocco Loiacono has raised concerns about rumours regarding Pope Francis’ “crackdown” on Latin Masses.

“A couple of weeks ago some pretty serious rumours emerged from the Vatican that the Pope … is about to really crackdown on the Latin Mass with the view of banning it almost completely from any Catholic church in the world,” Mr Loiacono told Sky News Australia.

“This is very concerning.”

I applaud you all for great journalism! As a Catholic, I loved the universality of dozens of different Rites for different ethnicities and peoples. It is shocking that the beautiful Latin Rite is so oppressed by this Pope. Traditional priests and prelates that voice any disagreement with the current Pope are laicized, removed, or excommunicated. It is a total disgrace. While I do not attend the Latin Rite, I respect those that do. It is reverent, ancient, and beautiful.

The Latin Mass must have something going for it if Francis doesn't like it. Dad was an altar boy and loved the Old Mass, in fact he stopped going to Mass when they ditched it.

I attend the traditional Latin liturgy and I do not understand why the pope is destroying continuity and connectedness with the historic Church. The parish I attend is full with people of all ages and many families with children. We are loyal to the Church but it's like having an abusive father or cancel culture leader in Rome. For 60 years this has been going on. Yet Benedict XVI published a document that stated concerning the traditional Mass and Sacraments "What earlier generations held as sacred, remains sacred and great for us too, and it cannot be all of a sudden entirely forbidden or even considered harmful"... St Pope Pius V in his bull Quo Primum "We likewise declare and ordain that no one whosoever is forced or coerced to alter this Missal, and that this present document cannot be revoked or modified,  ....Would anyone, however, presume to commit such an act, he should know that he will incur the wrath of Almighty God and of the Blessed Apostles Peter and Paul."
Yet here we are with Pope Francis protecting sex abusers like Rupnick and Sancheta. He has undone and attacked what Christ, the apostles their successors have safe guarded and oassed in. Pope Francis attacks Holt Scripture and the holy tradition passed down which is Christianity enculturated.
