When I read about "Traditionis custodes, " I thought he was going to prohibit what Pope Benedict XVI said that everyone could celebrate TLM whenever a priest wanted, but that the Novus ordo was to be celebrated as well.

I, then, read that Pope Francis wrote "Traditionis custodes" because of traditionalists. They are damaging the Church. It is good being a traditionalist, but they are more radical by the day. I also read that "Traditionis custodes" came out because Pope Francis has been wanting for the Church to celebrate the mass of Pope St. Paul VI as it was intended before making any radical decision, as that mass is not being celebrated by almost any church.

I view NO, TLM, Byzantine Rites, Etc., ALL as wonderful, holy rites that are ALL ways to HELP YOU get much more closer to the Blessed Holy Trinity. As someone who wants to get closer to God this Great Holy and beyond, I do pray for the end of what I call a "cold civil war" in the Church.

It’s frustrating that anyone would view the pride of traditionalist as more of an issue than the lukewarmness of NO goers. TLM attendees follow the teachings of the Church on sexuality, abortion, confession, real presence and a host of other issues that are often watered down or eliminated at NO parishes. Can being more faithful to the Church cause pride? I would imagine it could as anything we excel at can easily cause pride. But what this really shows is an aversion to disciplines that encourage faithfulness to the Church. The liberals don’t change the doctrine, so they go after disciplines that encourage orthodoxy.

Pope Francis has actually been a pretty good Pope of you don't read the headlines LOL. There's things he's done or said I'm not a fan of, but the way he's painted is down right wrong honestly.

Hopefully there would be some peace within the church. I am interested in attending TLM, to experience it and see if I do like it. If not I would stay with my local parish. Tradionalist some can be very toxic and some of the norvus ordo are to blind to see faults that are at bay.
When it comes to Pope Fransic this is my personal thought, he is prob handling stuff very carefully, esp in the modern age, we dont know everything thats going on the inside the politics and forgien relations.
Pope Fransic he did some poor choices and he did some good and others eeh. He isnt a terrible Pope, he isnt the greatest either. He is trying though, but we all must keep him in our prayers.

No the FFSP shall continue to celebrate the TLM. They are needed as a show case to the TLM that reconciliation to Rome is still possible and there no need to be schismatic.

The old Tridentine Mass was discontinued many years ago. However, the Latim Mass in the form of the Missa Normativa is still permitted as far as I know, as it is just the present rite, but in Latin.

Jesus wants genuine faith. The Latin Mass is beautiful just like protestant music can be beautiful. But is this for God or for men? Let's not fall into the trap of the Pharisees and all the trappings of ceremony and pageant over direct contact with the poor and rejected.

I'm confused. I thought FSSP had an irregular communion with Rome and that they weren't allowed to celebrate Latin Mass, so do they have full communion now? Please someone explain. Thanks
