I ran into Janette in Hollywood and Western. Like in 2016 and I screamed omg your from I Carly can I get a picture with you. She was very nice but she said very quickly. "I'm on my way somewhere" I understood and for some reason I felt that she wasn't happy being recognized. Never knew she was dealing with my same trauma at the same age.

One of the most freeing things I've been given in therapy; being told "You don't owe your mother anything." Knowing that we don't have to forgive our mothers feels like that.

As a victim of parental abuse and sexual abuse, this conversation and your empathy is so healing.

I appreciate the therapist making it very clear that her mother’s trauma isn’t a factor here. People might have reason for why they behave a certain way but if the end result is this level of abuse the trauma they experienced really doesn’t matter.

The real look of pain on Willow's face on so many points, I really believe she can relate to a lot of what Jennette went through

They’re all so agreeable the way they nod and look so concerned. Great empathy

One thing I got from Jeanette's book is that she was in a trance for much of her life. She even mentioned being on auto pilot throughout filming iCarly. I always thought about acting and being famous and having money but I never would want to go through half of the stuff she did for it.
So no Jeanette, you don't sound whiny at all. You were just a child, you didn't deserve all that. This is heartbreaking.

I read her book over a year ago after my mother died. I had no sad feelings about her loss. She had been mean. The book, her sharing, helped me.

I could listen to her talk for a while, she’s eloquent, intelligent, mature. I never would’ve thought she was experiencing this.

Feel like willow also needed to hear these things. You could see how much she related.

I don't know if Jennette will ever read this. But I'm so thankful to her and she's such an inspiration and encouragement. I never had a good relationship with my mother and I NEVER hear about "mommy issues" only daddy issues. I had a good father and a brother I was close to and I've always felt safe with men, and had issues with women. So it's comforting and refreshing to hear her story and makes me feel less alone. I really love her so much.

I do like how they listen instead of trying to compare stories like most people do. Very thoughtful, very demure. 😂

I remember when she went to the car show at the duke energy center in Cincinnati. I missed the meet and greet but even when she was being told to leave she stayed and talked to me while she signed a foam light bulb I brought and allowed me to sign her cast as well because at the time her arm was broken but I’ll never forget the time I met Jeannette McCurdy 💕 she really is sweet

I noticed when Jenette is speaking and she’s about to get Emotional, she’ll say she’s about to get Emotional and sometimes even chokes up but you can tell that that Sadness and Anger just directly turns into Passion and Bravery
