I'm of two minds. I love going fast, but at the same time look at how irrelevant this much freedom of movement makes so much of the stage. You can fly through it with almost no platforming.
I think that if the control scheme for slowing down, platforming and exploring is well handled, and there is a decent amount to explore with it, this kind of gameplay has all kinds of potential.

Nowhere is it demanded you go this fast, but you could go this fast. Thats the kind of thing you find with multiple attempts. It's so satisfying.

I don't know if a 3d sonic game can ever be done "correctly" in a way that's both easy on the eyes but speedy and fun. I like this though and it's certainly a much needed step in the right direction, as this looks so fluid and intriguing.
