In 2014, I had the privilege to meet the Easy company, 502nd PIR veteran who had lost his duffel bag at the Rolley Castle, near Bastogne 70 years earlier and to give it back to him.

A soldier stands there once again.

He is alive and well, I'm going to see him this weekend for his 95th birthday, we still talk about this trip, and he still tells amazing stories from the war.

How ironic is it, that cause of these veterans. The 119 people that disliked this video, are able to do so freely.

These men and women are truly the “Greatest Generation”. They did nothing less than save the world. My Dad fought in the Pacific against the Japanese. He was in the US Navy and flew carrier based missions in TBF Avengers as a radio gunner and bombardier. After the war and after a stint as a professional baseball player he rejoined the military. He said that he never wanted to takeoff from or land an airplane on a boat again so he decided to join the Army. He flew missions against the North Koreans in the US Army Air Corps and continued his career in the US Air Force fighting the North Vietnamese from a desk in Washington DC and different stations around the World. He retired after 25 years of service to his country. He is now resting with honor at a National Cemetery near our home. I’m very proud to call him my Dad and I think of him every day. God bless him and all who have served our great country.

Men of iron. The greatest generation. The likes we will never see again. Thank you to all past and present who sacrificed so much for so many. We are in your debt and we thank you.

In 1970 I served with the 502nd PIR in Vietnam as a medic. I look upon my service with the 101st Airborne with pride knowing we stood upon the shoulders of giants like these gentleman.

My grandfather fought as a Flak-Captain and as a Soldier for the German 3. Empire, and he helped so many wounded american and british Soldiers. But if he would say this today, everyone is going to hate him and saying which bad person he is - its sad. Im not a Nazi, but he also deserves to get a remeberance. Thats my opinion.

I just want to have a little sit down with the people who disliked this video. Great young men who sacrificed so much to give others a beautiful future

I love how they look old and stuff. But they still act young and joke together with a good sense of humor. Godspeed.

My uncle was in wwll he was a sharp shooter. At least that's what he called it. Never hunted again after he came home. My Dad said he had enough shooting. God bless all of you veterans!!!
