Starfield Guide: BEST Early Skills To Get First

#starfield has LOADS of Skills - here are the very best ones to get first to make sure you get a flying start in combat, ship combat and more.

I’d recommend commerce and security. Once you have rank 3 security you can unlock every lock in the game. Once you have max commerce you get a 20% discount everywhere and you sell things at a 25% mark up.

Piloting doesn't actually unlock the boosters on the ship, those come as a default, it actually unlocks the thrusters which allow you to move the ship up, down, left or right without having to change the direction you are facing. It does however allow you to pilot more powerful ships in the later stages so its still a must pick imo

I think persuasion is my favorite, I thought it was funny when I had to sneak onto the collectors ship but instead I convinced them to let me on and show me the collection before taking out the leader and making his crew stand down as I took everything on the ship for myself.

Epic game! I love it and will easily spend thousands of hours in it like any Elder Scrolls, of Fallout game ive played thus far. This is a great rpg, i love everything about it!

I personally feel like targeting is a little bit more important than stealth. Without having that skill, you won’t be able to target specific parts of a ship, which would allow you to take ships for free.

Security over stealth. Picking locks and hacking computers is way more important especially early game. I also maxed out my strength skill immediately which effects your carry capacity. I’d say don’t worry about combat skills in general. This game is wicked easy. I’m level 45 and I’ve put 4 points into pistol specialization and that’s it for combat. My top 2 pistols deal 250+ damage each with my silenced and EMP pistols dealing 150+

I started as Cyberrunner and first 2 levels went into security for those master locks 😂 helps a lot in the beginning and it isn't really hard to do locks 😂 after that it was weightlifting to rank 4 😂

This isn’t correct. I’ve played every Bethesda game from morrowwind to this. The most essential early game perks are lockpicking, weight training, jet packs and persuasion. Max all them out and the game becomes much easier.

Piloting tier 1 unlock the ability to use thrusters which is an entirely different from boosting

Boost pack yes. Weapon of choice for more dmg yes (pistols if you want to be cool). Nothing else is needed.

Piloting unlocks the higher tier ship class B and C the best C class ship in the game early on is the Dragonfire 2 in has research station, spacesuit workbench and weapon workbench on board for you to use... pretty useful for any

Stealth on the other hand isn't really that great tbf.... i would say go unlock you research skills, commerce (for selling and buying stuff from merchants in your favour, buying stuff for cheap while selling goods for higher price)

If you unlock the Rejuvenation skill on the bottom tier skills under the Physical skill section that pretty helpful as well try and unlock it early on and see what happens....

No, piloting doesn't unlock ship boost. Everyone has that from the bugging...

Weight lifting is the most important skill in the game and it’s not particularly close unless you want to be too heavy the whole game
