As a beginner, I'm freaking afraid of gaining too much speed when skiing down a steep slope, because whenever my speed is high, I feel like I'm losing control since the skis start bouncing on the bumps of the slope. Even going side-to-side (like S) didn't help me to keep the speed at a comfortable level.

Just shredded my first black diamond on skiis with 2 buddies and my legs were shaking after the run. So much adrenaline. Was chill at first but then had a crazy steep section for a while and at a certain point even carving and S-sing didn't feel like it was making a bit of difference so was basically praying I wouldn't fall going 40mph (what it felt like). Sent it twice but that speed control still needs work. Fundamentals probably.

I was on this slope in the middle of last April and I was finishing my ski day and a season there. My legs already didn't hold well, the slope was melting, and everywhere were melted bumps, so I fell there several times. And I think it was exactly at the same spot, where the snowboard guy fell in the background 😂

i find that my main issue is just catching small bumps or uneven terrain on otherwise flat hills. my skis will catch anything sticking out and can lead to pretty nasty falls when going at higher speeds. not talking about moguls but more so just rigid surfaces(?)

Thank you for this video. Quick observation. You have slight standing up movement when your ski's are neutral - meaning when you're skis are exactly underneath you, standing up straight & in the middle of the transition before you tip over on the outside ski. My question is : do you do this to primarily to put pressure on the shins and lessen the weight to help slide/ transition your skis over to the edge?
