in regards to shelving... I use my 5gal buckets of dry goods and 2x12-12ft untreated lumber to make shelving. 1 on each end and 1 in the center. on the bottom run I use a 12"x12" piece on top of each bucket so you can easily slide more buckets underneath. Cheap, fast, and flexible to your space. The 12pk trays of canned goods fits perfectly and can go 3 trays high with the 15oz or the 29oz cans. It also allows 2 #10 cans tall. I can customize it to my spare bedroom/pantry walls and they work fantastic.

I would only add we have bikes to get around and a wagon to haul stuff, in case we can't get gas. Love your list I learned a few good things.

I am literally the only Prepper in my home. My boyfriend of over a year had no clue until we moved in together. He thinks I’m nuts, but he’ll be glad when we need them! My family is my MAG.

This was a great summary. Under family meeting spots and plans I would suggest a solar phone charger for every cell phone. Yes, I know it won't work in an emo but it will in most other emergencies. Also, instead of a bug out bag (I'm staying put) I like the term get home bag. It can double as bug out but for teens and adults too there is a set goal with the bag. Get home. As opposed to bug out. To where? If a bug out location is many miles away your home will probably be the safest spot to get to.

The Dollar Tree near me is like a small grocery store! I allow a hundred dollars a month at the Dollar Tree. Cordage, candles, plastic buckets, bleach for the water if I have to, canned vegetables, rice, dried beans, spices, small hot water bottles, bandages, nail polish remover with acetone, soap, toothpaste, matches, etc

After 9-11 I figured we would be in war. So I started revisiting the 1800s, 1940s etc. I decided at that time anything could happen. I started replacing electrical items as they broke, like a hand mixer with manuel ones, even my coffee pot that I use on the stove top. I also realized I didn't have to replace non stick cookware as soon as I switched to cast iron. Recycled items, such as wood, bricks that were from an old fallen building. Well what I am getting at is don't make it hard on yourself make it a lifestyle. Think of the perils and what did your grandparents do in that situation. Food shortages=gardens and so on. No heat think fires and extra blankets. Set your house up as a camping trip. You will be amazed how little you need if you are efficient with your choices. My two week camp out with no running water, or electricity experiment let me know my successes and fails. I wrote down what worked and what didn't I improved on. Think how it was done before modern tech. I could do fine if all utilities failed today. JS

I live in a studio apartment, the only place I can store water was under my bed, I need to find another space to add more.
