London Remembrance Sunday Live from The Cenotaph

Watch the London Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph live, taking place on the 10th of November

The National Service of Remembrance, held at The Cenotaph in Whitehall on Remembrance Sunday, provides the nation with a physical reminder of all those who have served and sacrificed, with British and Commonwealth soldiers, sailors, airmen and women represented, together with members of the emergency services and civilians, ensuring that no-one is forgotten.

Members of the Royal Family will pay tribute alongside Members of the Cabinet, Opposition Party leaders, former Prime Ministers, as well as the Mayor of London and other ministers. Representatives of the Armed Forces, Fishing Fleets and Merchant Air and Navy will be there, as well as faith communities and High Commissioners of Commonwealth countries.

We have always just said that many are dead, never their names John, Charles, James and Fred.

Countless more heroes to add to the list, they all went down fighting with a clenched fist.

Under fire as soon as their boats docked, lucky to leave only shell shocked.

Never forgetting the beautiful dogs, donkeys, camels and horses, all dying painfully for human causes.

Nothing but names for you and I,
We never saw the fear in such young eyes,
As they took one last breath fighting for peace, lifeless bodies left for rats to feast.

So spare a few minutes to remember them today,
For our lives we owe to Mary, Bob and all the glorious brave.
