You can use this as a buyers guide of sorts when helping you decide as to whether you should get the GT or Ecoboost. We're going to be going over price, handling, efficiency, and some other things the Ecoboost has over the GT. Hopefully this video can be of help! Enjoy!

Does the 4cyl run over pedestrians as fast as the V8?

I got the Ecoboost as a daily driver and it has been great. Decent on gas if you drive it normally, and can be fun when you want it to be. I am not a big car guy so this car goes as fast as I will ever need it to be. I never driven faster than 200km/h(125miles/h) and I don't think I ever will. So this is actually the perfect car for a single guy like me as a daily. Now I just need a bronco haha

Good analysis. Always assumed I would get a GT but as little as I drive and now in my 50’s the Ecoboost made more sense. Last April I looked at the last of the 2020s at local dealers and bought an Eco Premium with MSRP $37K for $26K out the door. Just could not justify spending so much more. Do I regret it? Yes, I’d rather have the GT - But I’ve come to really like my four banger Pony and it’s been great fun so far. On a trip to South Texas I did average 32 miles per gallon and that was driving mostly back roads at 80 mph and passing often.

Bought a used 2017 Ecoboost convertible for long trips and top-down cruising. 32 mpg at highway speeds, with more than enough power for merging and passing. The car is comfortable and reliable and it's a good fit for me.

I bought my 2021 Mustang GT specifically for the power. I have the 6-speed manual and I drive my GT like I stole it. I got a good deal and i really bought the car for the engine and transmission. I get 14-19 mpg depending on how far i drive.,

I considered buying an Ecco boost premium but i can't deal with the stigma and the lack of power of the 4 banger. Most people i know get the V8 or at least dream of owning the V8 version.

We have a 2019 Premium EcoBoost and a 2021 Premium GT PP1. The gas mileage difference between the two are negligible. 23-27 mpg vs. 21-24 mpg, because if you want to have any fun with the 4 cylinder at all, because it is still a heavy car, you have to engage those turbos, which decreaes your fuel efficiency. If you drive it like a Ford Fusion, the gas mileage improves, but 😴 💤

The EcoBoost is cheaper to buy and maintain. And it doesn't suck to drive. Mods are easy and simple. They're great cars. I don't have anything negative to say about them, beyond the fact that they sound terrible. I think that most people who are using their cars who just drive on the road from point a to point b would be better served to buy an EcoBoost. I track my car, so a GT is a minimum for me.

I remember when Mustang came out with a V6 making 300hp around 2011 or so? Brand new it was about 20k. Same power as the previous Mustang GT was making with a V8. I was tempted to buy one and wish I had at the time. 5 years later, those used Mustangs with a V6 were still selling for 20k. Zero depreciation.

I own a 2016 EcoBoost premium and I have cold air intake and blow off valve installed with a cobb tuner and I've raced last gens gt and pulled on it I havent raced a mustang gt s550 yet though but that only costed me roughly 1500 for bolt ons so price wise u can make the EcoBoost faster easilly I will be doing full catback exhaust next

Very informative; thank you. I think I’m leaning more towards an Eco for my personal lifestyle but really my dream is to own a vintage 1965-1973 mustang convertible 🔥😭💛✨ someday I will, but for now I am definitely excited to get a modern version !!

We took our 2019 5L Gt on a road trip from Manitoba to Bc, through the mountains for a week and back home. Was shocked to have an average of 8.6L/100km (27.3mpg). I drive a 2.3l turbod mazdaspeed3 and my lowest is like 9 on straight highway. Usually closer to 10-13. Was genuinely amazed at relative fuel efficiency, all things considered.

I had a v-6 Honda Accord, then I switched to a Mustang Ecoboost. My insurance actually went down

I barely can use 330 hp on my ecoboost on any given day or drive. I have no idea and still don't have any idea what the point of spending X amount more for a car that looks exactly the same that has 130 more horsepower is. I can't even use the ecoboost's full power anywhere ever. The ONE and only thing I want a GT for is sound, I do miss that, but that ONE thing is not justifiable to spend how much more just so you can tell people "I have a 5.0". Everywhere I go in traffic, everywhere I park I get complimented on my Ecoboost so why would I bother with a GT 😂

Eco feels lifeless, it sounds awful, it’s only available in automatic, and if you want gas mileage get a CTR, N, or GR Corolla. I am not hating on the eco but it’s not the one for me which is why I got the S650 GT.

its a amazing car, it has looks, decent power, decent interior, some nice features and right price tag. Also nice history. I love mine.

There is guy named Jessie Ringley. He is the owner of Engineered motor solutions (EMS). He just took his Ecoboost to Ponies in the Smokies. His ecoboost is reliably putting down 1000hp. His setup is pretty wild! They have a built block that they sell called the Babubu block that is designed to work around 800hp. I’m not sure what his different about his, but still insane to think about.

I own an ecoboost and love it. I have thought about doing the Babubu block or maybe the new Ecobeast block from Ford Performance that has been tested for 500whp. Time will tell!

Currently getting 27 mpg on my 2019 GT premium. Highway miles mostly. Occasionally taking out a Camaro or 2….

My 2019 with the 10 speed transmission and a 91 octane I can get 30mpg's on road trips. Best of been able to pull was 31.5 (hand calc) at 60mph. This trip was 180 miles.

I learn to drive on a 1979 Ford Mustang 4 cylinder turbocharged. The four-cylinder turbocharged is older than you think.
