Powder Skiing in Hokkaido - Japan's North Island

It's true what they say about the snow in Japan. We spent two weeks travelling round Hokkaido, skiing some of Japan's north islands' most iconic ski destinations. Niseko, Asahidake, Furano, Kurodake, Mount Asahidake and Furanodake.
This was a road trip for the books, I've never experienced skiing like it. What an experience.

Great. I am now based in Europe but these areas like Mt Asahidake and Mt Furano are still my regular destinations. The snow is often so good that I almost want to fall rather than just cruising !

I enjoyed the video and Japan looks like everything is much calmer and more relaxed. It looked like time was going by twice as slowly.

I went cross country skiing there during the 1980's, at a slower pace and on narrow skis compared to the equipment nowadays. I especially loved the hot springs in the mountain lodges after the day trips and then being served up with the fantastic selections of food by the caretakers of the lodges.

welcome to Japan！Hokkaido's powder snow is world-famous, but even within the same Hokkaido area, I feel that the inland Furano and Asahikawa areas have better snow quality than the Niseko area.What do professional skiers like you think?
