Splunk is a Security & Information Event Manager. It takes information from various places (logs, analyzers, etc) to give an analyst as close to a "real-time" view of whats going on with their network. Instead of manually going through kerbillions of logs and info, this does it for you. Sends alerts, provides reports and all that incredibly exciting work.

The title is so damn misleading. I've never seen such a bad introduction video like this about a tool used at enterprise scale. Buzzwords after buzzwords, but just beating around the bush without a real keyword about what does it do, what is it build upon, what services it connects, etc.

Went to the company website. Basically, Splunk is the company's name.
Their products are named Splunk this and Splunk that, related to security, solutions and platform for big data.
Funny that a company that simplify and summarize data can't seem to simplify and summarize what Splunk is in a simple and straightforward manner, both in their videos and websites, giving the impression that they're also confuse and unsure.
