Imagine how the conversation must've gone.
"Mom, what happened to my brother?"
"Oh you know that nice couple a few doors down? Well they kidnapped him and ate him before you were born."

This guy was just straight up CRAZY! He deserved what he got in the end! Could you imagine what could’ve happened if the courts just let him go into the families of his victims

Sad for all the young people he killed, but great work to that last boy who fought back.

That psychiatrist put all of it together so easily and I don’t know how...

The psychiatrist’s report was really impressive

I seriously doubt this was Russia's first serial killer, probably just happened close enough to the end of the Soviet union thst we know about him.

The detective's assessment of Andrei Chikatilo was very impressive.

"All right, so why are there so few serial killers in Mexico?" JJ asked as she changed the subject back to it.

"They probably have as many as we do, but they document almost none of them." Hotch told her.
"Why is that?"
"It's the Chikatilo syndrome." Gideon said.
"The what?"
"Andre Chikatilo. One of the most prolific serial killer of the 20th century. By the time they found him, he had killed more than 50 people." Reid explained.
"He was no more experienced than any average serial killer, but he lived in the Soviet Ukraine. The soviets were convinced, the serial killer is a uniquely American phenomenon. Inevitable result of decadent capitalism." Gideon added.
Morgan chuckled.

The most interesting part about this killer and something that never gets talked about is how he had a ton of male AND female victims. Usually these types of killers have a certain type they go after.

What's even more disturbing is he even did live interviews with reporter's at some of the locations describing the kills and his techniques!!

Each time I watch these serial killers "how did they get caught" I just realize more and more that the cops are absolutely useless 90% of the time.

He's seriously one of the worst I've ever read/learned about and I'm pretty well-read in true crime and serial killers. A horrible human, but a fascinating psychological study.

This man let his humiliating condition and bullying consume him that provides zero excuse for what he did however everyone watching should take this as a cautionary tale in school, in a relationship, etc be careful who you ridicule because you could be creating a monster without even realizing it

I just live in Rostov-on-Don. Moreover, to get to the very places where the bodies were found costs nothing for the average resident of the center of this city.

My mother also told me a story about how she once happened to meet this man. Everything ended well.

This is one of the most famous murderers, which all the former countries of the USSR know about.

I would like to wish everyone, first of all, accuracy. Take care of yourself and your loved ones.

(I hope this translation is good).
