In VietNam, i solve it by:
10x=y + 3x
10x-3x=y
7x=1y
=> x/y=1/7

I'm surprised barely anybody has pointed this out. The answer is D or an infinite amount of solutions. x and y been hasn't defined for a specific subset of numbers, so I can assume x = 0. If that's the case, then there will be an infinite amount of solutions that exist, and therefore x/y can't be determined

as:

10x = 3x + y
7x = y
7(0) = y
y = 0

so substituting x/y, I get 0/0 (Indeterminate form)

This is why regardless for whatever math question designed for any age, the question should not have been haphazardly (if i am using that correctly) created to introduce a fault.
Otherwise I would still multiply and re-arrange to prevent dividing by x (which could be 0) as a safer approach

Y and 3x have a common denominator. Just separate them and you'll get y/x + 3 = 10. y/x = 7

Now reciprocate. x/y = 1/7.

in Brazil we solve it by manipulating the left hand side
10=10/1
10/1=(y+3x)/x
(7+3)/1=(y+3x)/x
we can see that y=7 and x=1
x/y=1/7

At the beginning you can scratch the x and you see that y = 7, which gives us the answer

Now i understand. the video says SAT or impossible or something, just so people would comment on the video and increase his interaction rate. Everybody loves to feel smart, so this is why they comment by saying this video is stupid and therefore increasing interaction on his channel and getting his video suggested more, i.e. more views. Actually the answer is D. 3x /x is only 3 if x is nonzero. Hence in general terms the original sum is undefined.
