How to build Restorative Cities

Urban design is evolving at a breathtaking pace - by the end of this century, it will have reached dimensions yet unimaginable today. Twenty-first-century urban living should neither rely on yesterday’s technologies, nor on today’s notion of progress.
Bjorgvin and his colleagues at the Ecala Group have come up with a turn-key approach that guides cities beyond sustainability. Their approach connects a proprietary super-grid with a flourishing public realm.

The American Society of Civil Engineers estimates US$3.6 Trillion is needed to bring America’s underperforming infrastructure to a competitive level by 2020. At the global level, the UN estimates a minimum investment need of US$30 Trillion by 2030 to meet humanitarian needs, while McKinsey assumes a minimum infrastructure investment of US$57 Trillion to meet economic demands for the same period. Cities are ill equipped and underfunded to take on this challenge.
