Felip, I couldn't have said it better myself. This seem to be happening in most schools in America. Foreigners find it very disturbing at the behaviors of children here (most teenagers acts so off who outside of this country are LADIES N YOUNG GENTLEMEN at their age). I happen to work for a school. My son and I are watching this video as an assignment. I totally agree with you but am lucky my son has a strong teacher with old school values!! I can't say that for some teachers n the school authorities. I watch some bribe kids with vidoes, come eat in my office, eat lunch with me, etc. Lots of people wants so fervently to REALLY TEACH these children life values n lessons, but are threatened with disciplinary committees, called into offices to hear adults, mothers, EDUCATORS talk down on them. I wonder how some of these are Principles or school leaders. When these children come to school, we are their parents, whether one agrees with that . I know America is a Country where most like to sue, lots of parents DONT DO their parts any more and will jump to sue but if we want to see a BETTER tomorrow, the school systems NEEDS to rethink, and end those wasteful trainings they send teachers and EAs to and come up with better systems. Great VALUES AND DISCIPLINES would NOT hurt your children.

My 7 year old class is out of control because the principal has forced discipline out of the school to be replaced with restorative justice in class. Now the teacher has to have 5 min conversations with kids instead of teaching and helping kids understand the material. No more time outs, no more quiet times, no more 5 minutes of recess, no more writing a sentence 10 times and no more consequences. I love the concept for resolving relationships and dealing with medium to big offences it does not work for talking in class or not doing the work in class . Its better to wait until after class or after school is over to ask questions to understand the root of the problem not during the class time. Teachers are being strip of any ability to keep their classrooms in order. Shoreline schools in WA a district with 98% graduation rate (yep a broken system).

This is a terrifically clear and well made video. Would it be possible to use it as part of a training being delivered to schools?

Hi! Our public school is adopting restorative practices and I am putting together a PSA about it to share with staff and parents, could I have your permission to use this video in our PSA? Thanks!
